I'm baffled. Nick Symmonds, America's fastest 800 meter sprinter, will not represent Team USA at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing.
The CBS news report states he is conflicted due to receiving his sponsor support from the running shoe and apparel firm, Brooks. I'm wondering if he consulted Brooks before choosing to leave the team. His decision doesn't make sense to me.
I think he is grandstanding.
